DarkChat - Reviewing the Edinburgh Fringe since 2008
Interviews
The Fringe is approaching, how are people feeling, what approach do they take to the monthly madness that is the Edinburgh Fringe?
Renny Krupinski
Back in 2010 we were really impressed with "Bare" winning Renny Krupinski the DarkChat award for Best Director.
After a 5 year absence he is back and we asked him about " The Alphabet Girl".
Jordan Brookes
In 2013 Jordan Brookes won the coveted & hard-fought for Welsh Unsigned Stand Up Award. This year he is unveiling his first solo show.
Lizzie Stanton
Last year after DarkChat had returned to respective countries of origin they were contacted by Lizzie Stanton to review her solo show "Beat".
Fortunately, local DarkChatter Ruth took up the assignment and was glad she did. This year Lizzie is back in an unfinished Tennessee Williams play " Confessional" and she reveals all here.
Joe Rowntree
We recently saw Joe Rowntree's Edinburgh preview show "Morgan Berry - Watership Down".
Superbolt Theatre
In 2013 a last-minute request for a review led DarkChatter Anne to see (and thoroughly enjoy) Superbolt Theatre's "The Uncanny Valley". This year they return with "Jurassic Park" which we can't wait to see on Saturday 8th August.
2 of Superbolt's Artistic Directors Maria Askew and Simon Maeder kindly gave us this interview:
Matthew Crosby
We have been fans of Pappys since the days of Pappy’s Fun Club .. with “Pappys Last Show Ever” winning the coveted DARKCHAT award for Best Comedy show of 2012.
Due to the late announcement of some Pappys show this year we will not be seeing the group together but can’t wait to see Matthew Crosby’s solo show on Monday 10th August. To find out how Matthew deals with an interviewer who makes mistakes check here.
Tom Neenan
Before wowing us with his solo show " The Haunting At Lopham House" in 2014, we previously saw him as part of "The Gentlemen Of Lesiure" with Nish Kumar.

Louise Reay
The Edinburgh fringe is all about taking chances & the same applies going to see Previews.
This took DarkChatter Dave to Louise Reay's show "It's Only Words" in Cardiff. As you will see from the review he loved it and if you want to discover why she is doing a comedy show in Chinese have a look here.
John-Robert Partridge
In 2010 DarkChat were bowled over by Tread The Boards Theatre's version of "The Importance Of Being Earnest", winning 2 DARKCHAT awards. Since then we have followed their progress with countless trips to their residence at The Attic Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon and this year (armed with two 6 year olds) we'll be heading to see their production of "Peter Pan". John-Robert Partridge tells us what kind of food will keep this company going through the festival.
