Joshua (and Me)

Pleasance Dome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

August 10, 2022 at 9:55:00 AM

Having already seen a number of superb one-person shows this Fringe the bar had been set high as we set off for Pleasance Dome for our first show of the day, Joshua and Me had caught our eye as DarkChatter Kate has worked with children with ASD for a number of years and this promised to tell the story of a sibling growing up with an older autistic sibling. Boy did it deliver!

Written and performed by Rachel Hammond we meet young Hannah who lives in Blackpool with her Mum and older brothers, Ben and Joshua (not Josh). Hammond is excellent, there is clearly a huge amount of personal experience poured into the show which comes across in both the acting and the music, Hammond providing the soundtrack to the show and also to Joshua's rules with the clever use of a loop pedal.

You will laugh and you will cry and hopefully learn something along the way, If you're looking for something to start your Fringe day we can highly recommend starting here.
