Editburgh: The Factually Inaccurate Historical Walking Tour

Starting at Ibis Hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

August 9, 2022 at 9:00:00 AM

With our wives and junior Darkchatters spending the day in Dundee Carl and I allowed ourselves a men only day. After Bacon rolls at City Café we joined the Editburgh Factually Incorrect walking tour (arriving a little late having misread our spreadsheet once again!)

As a town planner our host Angus Dodds has insights into the Scottish capital denied to the rest of us mortals as although we have walked this area hundreds of times before we had failed to realise the cultural significance of the plaques commemorating the liked of John Kay, H, and the Bee Gees amongst many others.

Walking around I was amazed how many different walking tours now take place but I doubt if any of them has as tight a script as Angus's. Even walking around a busy Royal Mile and battlling bagpipers, tourists, street performers and flyerers his delivery never missed a beat and he produced a comedy performance as strong as any I have seen at this year's festival.

This show is definitely one for the "better than it needed to be" file indicated by the presence of returning audience members.
