Tony Law: Law and DisOrganizeder

This is High Octane stuff from Tony Law – right from his hilarious opening gambit about having demanded, in his contract, in order to guarantee his return to this venue, that he be furnished with all of the least pleasant characteristics associated with it (and yes, those very characteristics had been noted as we settled into our seats). We were all up and laughing from the off and this continued to the end of the set. Even when there was the slightest hint of a pause, he would call out a “lull” and guarantee many more of them – which of course overcame any risk of lulling at all.

Law's delivery style is hugely energetic, his timing and phrasing are superb. When dealing with heavier subjects, his sense of the absurd is always present and he is also happy just talking very, very funny nonsense. In short, there is hardly a funnier hour to be had in Edinburgh this month. (DM)
