Preview - An Audience With Mily-Liu

For our first (and only) Edinburgh preview of 2022 DarkChat's Dave Cox went to see An Audience With MIly-Liu at Cardiff's Sherman Theatre.

I have followed Francois Pandolfo's career with interest since I conducted my first face to face interview with him following seeing " Alix In Wuntergarten" at a pre-Edinburgh preview in 2016.

Fast forward 6 years and here I am at Sherman Theatre to see " An Audience With Milly-liu". I wasn't quite sure what to expect ( which is how I like to see most shows) and it certainly wasn't the show I thought it would be ( in a very good way). There is a central premise here which surprised me ( again in a very good way) which I won't reveal here. However, I will state that it provided one of the most enjoyable, exhilarating and interesting shows that I have seen for quite a while.

It is a truly astounding and brave performance from Pandolfo who easily switches from outrageous humour to heart-breaking pathos in an instant.

So, if you fancy a hilarious and strong ending to your day head to Pleasance Courtyard this August. If you like cats you are in for a treat. And if you don't like cats you are still in for a treat.
