Rob Auton: JUPITER ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Monday 10th August 13.00

For me the joy of the Edinburgh Festival is the opportunity to discover new favourite performers in unexpected places. The decision of Andrew O Neill to pull out of a Free Show gave us our first brief sighting of Rob Auton over 10 years ago. The rest - as they say - is history.
We were so impressed we duly put him in our spreadsheet the following year and he hasn't looked back. He has now moved on from free shows in tiny rooms in pubs to regularly selling out Assembly Roxy.
What hasn't changed is his talent. We loved his themed shows "Yellow" "The Sky Show", "The Face Show" etc but for the last couple of years he has produced shows strictly from his imagination.
Last year he won the coveted Darkchat Best Show award for "Can" and this year he returns with "Jupiter ". Here he is an estate agent on the afore mentioned planet asked to describe his former planet to prospective purchasers.
This allows Rob to do what he does best and cut through the negativity that we deal with on a daily basis and concentrate on the positive aspects of everyday that we generally take for granted.
I honestly don't know another comedian here who does what he does. He makes the commonplace extraordinary and you will leave the venue in a more positive frame of mind than when you arrive.
There are some serious points he is making here but he never forgets that this is a comedy and you will laugh out loud throughout this hour show.
This is the 40th anniversary of my first Edinburgh festival and nothing has given me greater pleasure than watching Rob Auton assume his place at the top of the "must see performers" at the Edinburgh Festival , though sadly he will never appear on "Live At The Apollo".
Highly recommended.
